Bravo: Viewers can select scenes via web

March 28, 2014

Many TV networks these days don’t just want viewers, they want viewers who are engaged with their content. Bravo is rolling a trio of digital schemes it hopes will help viewers do just that.

The first stunt will debut on April 27 during a repeat of the most recent “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion episode. Called “Select a Scene,” viewers can use the network’s Bravo Play Live site on computers or mobile devices and vote on which scene they’d most like to see.

Viewers may vote on which cast member’s side of the story they’d like to hear more, and the scene with the most votes will air later in the episode.

Bravo plans to incorporate the “Select a Scene” feature into more shows and episodes throughout the year.

Later this year the network will launch Mobile Pass, an app featuring Bravo content such as news, previews and real-time alerts about what’s happening on-air. The app will be location-based, allowing advertisers and sponsors to target users geographically and offer them coupons or deals when they’re in a specific location.

Bravo this year will also continue its “social commercials,” on-air spots that include a call-to-action for viewers to submit their own photos or videos. The network then uses the best user-submitted content in future commercials.
