For being done with Donald Trump, NBC has plenty of plans for the former “Apprentice” personality. Trump is set to appear on a town hall meeting on the network’s “Today” on Oct. 26, and he’ll also sit down for an interview with Matt Lauer before the event. This week NBC said Trump will also host an episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
CBS has made two promotions, naming Bridget Wiley executive vice president of current programs and Amy Reisenbach senior vice president of current programs. Wiley had been senior vice president, while Reisenbach was vice president.
Actor Aaron Tveit has joined the cast of CBS’s “BrainDead,” a comic-thriller premiering next summer. Tveit will star in the series as a Republican operative.
Social agency We Are Social has made two hires, naming Greg Eckelman and Robb Henzi senior strategy directors. Eckelman joins from Code and Theory, Henzi from VICE Media.
Discovery Communications has named Karen Leever executive vice president and general manager for digital media, reporting to chief commercial officer Paul Guyardo. Leever joins from DirecTV, where she was senior vice president of digital and direct sales.
The career of sports columnist Jason Whitlock is becoming a familiar refrain. Last week Whitlock left ESPN for the second time, and now he’s joining Fox Sports for a second time, where he will work as a columnist and on-air personality. Whitlock previously worked at Fox from 2007 to 2012.
Bonnier Corp. has promoted Andrew Cox to editor in chief of Marlin magazine, effective immediately. Bonnier has also promoted Mark MacKenzie, naming him content strategy director for its Fishing Group. He had been digital director for Bonnier’s marine, aviation, watersports, sail and fish brands.
Joe Zahtila has been named chief revenue officer at PaperG, a display advertising management platform. Zahtila previously held a similar position at Dynamic Logic.
