It appears Nike is preparing for life after Tiger Woods. The athletic apparel company on Monday introduced Rory McIlroy as its latest spokesperson for Nike Golf, signing him to a deal reportedly worth more than $200 million. McIlroy and Woods appear together in a new TV commercial that aired at a press conference introducing McIlroy. Although many expect McIlroy to replace Woods as the future of Nike Golf, the latter is still paid more by Nike after signing a new deal in 2006, according to Forbes.
Maria Luisa Francoli Plaza, global chief executive officer at the media agency MPG, is stepping down from her position after 20 years with the agency. It’s not yet known what Francoli Plaza plans to do next.
TargetCast tcm has named David Leitner executive vice president and managing director of client services, working out of the agency’s New York office. Leitner was previously senior vice president and group client director at MediaVest Worldwide.
Meredith Xcelerated Marketing has named Lisa Clune senior vice president and general manager at Big Communications, the agency’s health practice. Clune was previously president at UL EduNeering.
JWT has named Jill Applebaum creative director in its New York office, working with the agency’s Smirnoff and Skinny Cow accounts. Applebaum was most recently senior vice president and group creative director at Draftfcb in New York.
Bonnier Corp. has promoted Eric Zinczenko, naming him executive vice president in charge of all U.S. magazine brands. Zinczenko, who is the brother of former Men’s Health editor in chief David Zinczenko, was previously in charge of Bonnier’s men’s group.
Michael Monroe has rejoined Forbes Media, becoming executive director of integrated marketing. Monroe was previously at Forbes from 2006 to 2010 before a stint at Condé Nast.
Jared DiPalma has been promoted to chief financial officer at NBCUniversal Entertainment & Digital Networks and Integrated Media, a newly created position. DiPalma had been senior vice president of finance since June 2011.
Ari Paparo has been named senior vice president of media products at Bazaarvoice, a social software company. Paparo has previously held positions at Google and DoubleClick.
IFC has promoted Colin Moore to vice president of digital media and alternative content, reporting to senior vice president of marketing Blake Callaway. Moore had been director at the cable network.
Production company Participant Media has made three additions, naming John Arianas executive vice president of advertising sales and partnerships, Stephanie Ruyle executive vice president of content distribution and affiliate partnerships, and Karen Ramspacher senior vice president of research and insights. All three will report to president Evan Shapiro.
Hallmark Channel has named Cristina Ferrare a permanent co-host on the show “Home & Family,” working alongside Mark Steines. Ferrare joined the show in November as temporary co-host.
“Good Morning America” co-host Robin Roberts plans to return to the show in February, appearing on the show Monday morning to break the news. “We’re talking about weeks, not months,” she said in an interview. Roberts has been away from the show since Aug. 30 to undergo a bone marrow transplant to treat the blood disorder Myelodysplastic Syndrome, or MDS.
