Oscars streaming online for the first time

February 28, 2014

Share |

Add the Oscars to the growing number of events that you can watch live online.

ABC will make Sunday’s telecast available over the web for the first time, though the service will only be for those with verified cable subscriptions.

After downloading the Watch ABC app, users will be prompted to enter their cable company’s subscription information to verify their accounts.

The stream will be available for viewing on computers, tablets or smartphones, following the success of some recent streaming sporting events.

The Super Bowl has been streamed online the past three years, with its audience growing each time.

And NBC made many of the events from Sochi available for live streaming.
