ComScore: We’re adding new data streams

The digital measurement company has rolled out Video Metrix Multi-Platform, a new service that will measure unduplicated viewing across desktops and laptops, which it already offered, while adding streams for smartphone, tablet and over-the-top devices.
The move is a part of the company’s Total Video Initiative, which it says will eventually measure all video viewing behavior across screens.
The goal of the service is to help advertisers, agencies and content providers plan, buy and sell video content and ads using metrics comparable to TV.
ComScore notes a number of its clients are on board with the new service, including Sony Pictures Television, which owns the digital video service Crackle, as well as Hulu and PBS Digital.
