‘GMA’ posts biggest 25-54 lead in decades

ABC’s “Good Morning America” continues to have one of its best seasons in more than two decades.
“GMA” was the top morning news show during the week ended May 31 with 5.13 million total viewers, followed by NBC’s “Today” at 4.46 million and “CBS This Morning” at 3.50 million.
That was its largest lead among total viewers in nine weeks.
The ABC show was also first for the week among 25-54s with 1.83 million viewers in the demo, with NBC at 1.70 million and CBS at 1.02 million.
In that demo “GMA” is leading “Today” by 127,000 viewers, its widest margin since the 1992-93 season. That’s up 26 percent from this time last year, when ABC led NBC by 101,000 viewers in the demo.

In evening network news for the week ended May 31, NBC’s “Nightly News with Lester Holt” was first with 7.68 million total viewers and a 1.5 rating among adults 25-54. ABC’s “World News Tonight with David Muir” averaged 7.5654 million viewers and a 1.6 rating, followed by CBS’s “Evening News with Scott Pelley” with 6.42 million and a 1.2 rating.
CBS’s “Face the Nation” was the most-watched Sunday morning show on May 31 with 3.23 million tuning in. ABC’s “This Week” was second with 2.82 million, NBC’s “Meet the Press” third with 2.47 million and “Fox News Sunday” fourth at 1.26 million.
In morning shows during the week ended May 31, ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 5.13 million viewers, with NBC’s “Today” at 4.46 million and CBS’s “This Morning” at 3.50 million. Among households, “GMA” averaged a 3.8 rating and a 15 share, with “Today” at 3.3/13 and CBS’s “This Morning” at 2.5/10.
In late night during the week ended May 24, CBS’s “The Late Show with David Letterman” averaged 8.66 million total viewers, with NBC’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” at 3.10 million and ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at 2.52 million. In late late night, CBS’s “Late Late Show” averaged 2.12 million, with ABC’s “Nightline” at 1.51 million, NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” at 1.36 million and NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly” at 0.72 million. Among viewers 18-49, “Late Show” averaged a 1.75 rating, with “Tonight” at a 0.91, “Kimmel” at a 0.63, “Late Late Show” at a 0.50, “Late Night” at a 0.45, “Nightline” at a 0.40, and “Last Call” at a 0.26. “Late Show” concluded on Wednesday, “Kimmel” was a rebroadcast on Wednesday that was excluded from the averages and Friday’s “Late Night” and “Last Call” were reruns.
