NBC’s ‘Tonight Show’ cements itself at No. 1

CBS’s new-look “Late Show” started strong, but now NBC’s “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” is beginning to extend its lead.
“Tonight” averaged 3.52 million total viewers during the week ended Oct. 18, according to Nielsen, No. 1 for the week in late night and fairly comfortably ahead of “Late Night’s” 2.89 million.
In fact, it matched “Tonight’s” biggest advantage over “The Late Show” since Stephen Colbert took over as host.
ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was third for the week in late night with 2.22 million total viewers.
“Tonight” also led the week among viewers 18-49 with a 0.88 rating, with “Late Show” at a 0.64 and “Kimmel” at a 0.53.
Meanwhile, in late-late night, NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” averaged 1.60 million total viewers and a 0.44 among 18-49s, with ABC’s “Nightline” at 1.45 million viewers and a 0.34 in 18-49s, CBS’s “Late Late Show with James Corden” at 1.30 million viewers and a 0.34 in 18-49s and NBC’s “Late Call with Carson Daly” at 901,000 viewers and a 0.27 in 18-49s.
