First look at the Digital Content NewFronts lineup
December 8, 2015
The Digital Content NewFronts continue to get bigger.
The just-released schedule for the annual spring event shows it has expanded to two weeks, the second of which is right before the broadcast networks’ upfront presentations.
The networks are scheduled to present the third week of May; the NewFronts are slated for May 2-13.
The event is designed for advertisers to get an advance look at the digital video efforts of participating companies.
As the Interactive Advertising Bureau, which handles the logistics of the event, points out, spending on digital video has grown the past few years as advertisers look for new ways to reach adults 18-34, who have migrated away from traditional media and to new media.
Digital video spending in 2014 rose 17 percent, the IAB says, to $3.3 billion, and it’s expected to increase by even more this year.
Digital companies have been bolder about challenging broadcast, which may be one reason for presenting closer to the same time as those networks.
Here’s the schedule for the NewFronts. Keep in mind the schedule often changes closer to the event, as companies drop in and out.
