Two more companies dump Deen

Apparently Wednesday’s “Today” appearance didn’t do much to help Paula Deen’s public image.

Two more companies have dropped the Southern chef, echoing similar decisions by Food Network and Smithfield Foods following revelations that she has used the n word in the past.

Walmart and Caesars Entertainment have both dumped Deen, who admitted to telling racist jokes and using racist language in a deposition released last week. She was testifying in a lawsuit brought against her brother, who has been accused of sexual harassment of a former employee, among other things.

Walmart had sold a Deen product line that includes cookware and baked goods. “We will not place new orders beyond those already committed,” said the company.

Caesars, meanwhile, said it will no longer offer Deen-themed buffets at its locations in Louisville, Memphis, Chicago and North Carolina.

Still, Deen is not without her supporters. According to Bloomberg BusinessWeek, several companies have pledged to stand behind her, including Landies Candies, IQ Craft and Club Marketing Services.
