Top sporting event: NBCSN, “NHL Hockey,” 8 p.m. Game two of the playoff series between Chicago and St. Louis, after the Blues took game one in overtime.

Best bet on broadcast: NBC, “Saturday Night Live,” 11:30 p.m. “Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus hosts, with musical guest Nick Jonas.
Best bet on cable: HBO, “Confirmation,” 8 p.m. Kerry Washington plays Anita Hill in the story of Clarence Thomas’ Senate Judiciary Committee hearings.
Top sporting event: ABC, “NBA Basketball,” 2:30 p.m. The defending champion Warriors begin their title defense with a playoff game against Houston.
SUNDAY
Best bet on broadcast: Telemundo, “El Vato,” 10 p.m. Series premiere. Simulcast of the new scripted series starring Regional Mexican star El Dasa. The show moves exclusively to NBC Universo next week.
Best bet on cable: HBO, “Girls,” 10:30 p.m. Season finale. In the second of back-to-back episodes to end the season, Hannah prepares to take part in a story slam.
Top sporting event: ESPN, “Major League Baseball,” 8 p.m. A National League West rivalry game between the Giants and Dodgers in Los Angeles.
