‘Shark Tank’ season high on Halloween
ABC reality show posts a 2.0 in 18-49s, easily the top show
November 3, 2014

ABC wrapped up its second nightly victory in a row on the second night of sweeps, led by Friday night hit “Shark Tank.”
“Shark” matched a season high with a 2.0 adults 18-49 rating at 9 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, boosting the network to No. 1 for the night and up 0.2 from last week.
Earlier in the night, ABC’s “Last Man Standing” was up a tenth over last week, to a 1.2 at 8 p.m., though lead-out “Cristela” was even to last week with a 1.0.
Season to date, ABC is up 6 percent on Fridays versus last year.
“Shark” was one of a handful programs to see gains on Friday, which was also Halloween.
With many people either taking their kids trick or treating or handing out candy, household television usage levels were off 10 percent from the previous week. Of course, the previous week also included a World Series game that boosted usage levels.
CBS’s “The Amazing Race” was also up a tenth from last week’s series-low 1.0, to a 1.1.
But 10 p.m. drama “Blue Bloods” slid from a 1.3 to a 1.1.
And NBC’s 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. scripted series “Grimm” and “Constantine” took a tumble after both posting a 1.4 for last week’s debuts.

“Grimm” fell to a 1.1, while “Constantine” plunged to a 0.9, not very promising for the new show.
Both programs will do well in DVR viewing, however, so it’s hard to say whether the declines will stay that stark.
And Fox’s “Utopia” dipped to a series-low 0.5 in what turned out to be its series finale. The network canceled the show on Sunday night.
For the night, ABC was first with a 1.5 18-49 rating and 6 share. CBS and NBC tied for second at a 1.1/4 apiece. Univision was fourth with a 0.8/3, Fox was fifth with a 0.4/2, and the CW and Telemundo tied for sixth with a 0.3/1 apiece.
In households, CBS led for the night with a 5.6/10, followed by ABC in second with a 4.2/8, NBC in third with a 3.3/6, Fox in fourth with a 1.3/2, Univision in fifth with a 1.2/2, the CW in sixth with a 0.7/1, and Telemundo in seventh with a 0.4/1.
