Readers: ABC will top Friday nights
September 24, 2015
ABC is the network to beat on Friday this fall once again.
The network has dominated Fridays the past couple years thanks to “Shark Tank,” the reality show on which people share their crazy inventions.
And that will continue once again, with “Shark” poised for another breakout season.
That’s according to Media Life readers, who weighed in on the fall season in a recent poll. Half predicted ABC will win Fridays this fall among adults 18-49.
Thirty-five percent pegged CBS the likely winner, while 14 percent picked Fox and the rest went with NBC.
“Fridays continue to be the weakest night of the week. Expect ‘Shark Tank’ to be the only show with any ratings bite,” predicted one reader.
Forty-seven percent of readers tabbed “Shark” the veteran show most likely to have a breakout season, followed by Fox’s “MasterChef Junior” at 14 percent.
Readers voted “Undateable,” the third-year comedy moving to Fridays and airing every episode live, as the veteran show most likely to see declines.
As for two other comedies, the new shows “Truth Be Told” on NBC and “Dr. Ken” on ABC, readers don’t have high hopes, saying it’s iffy whether they’ll even make it through their initial 13-episode order.
