Programming blog: Fox schedules ‘Wayward Pines’

The limited series “Wayward Pines” finally has a premiere date.

The project from director M. Night Shyamalan, which was announced more than a year ago, will debut on May 14 on Fox and on Fox International Channels around the globe.

The network says it will be the biggest single-date launch ever, bowing in 125 more countries.

The series follows a Secret Service agent looking for two missing agents in the Idaho town of Wayward Pines.

Here’s a bit of a no-brainer renewal: TNT has ordered a sixth season of “Rizzoli & Isles,” last summer’s most-watched show on basic cable.

The network plans to air 18 episodes, starting in summer of next year.
