Dan Brown has been promoted to vice president and director of digital experience at 22squared, a newly created position. Brown had been vice president and digital design director.
Illinois agency Rhea + Kaiser has made a handful of moves, including promoting Amy McEvoy to account director for public relations and associate public relations director, working with its Bayer account. The agency has also made three hires: Allison Saegebrecht as media strategy director, Hannah Barthels as assistant account manager and Rocio Acosta as studio production artist.
Sports licensing and marketing company Learfield has named Jon Heidtke senior vice president, working with Texas A&M University properties. Heidtke was previously senior vice president and general manager at Fox Sports Southwest.
Ari Bluman, chief digital investment officer at GroupM, has died at age 44 after suffering from an undisclosed illness. In an agency email, GroupM chairman Irwin Gotlieb wrote, “His work on bringing order to chaos in digital marketing led the industry and created unique value for us all.”
The Washington Post has named Megan H. Chan director of digital operations, effective immediately. Chan joins from Politico, where she was director of digital products.
Kenyatta Slade has been named chief executive officer at Trace, a media company targeting urban and African-American audiences. Slade has previously worked with Mechanizm, Carthage Motion Pictures and Sirius B. Media.
Bill Wolff, executive producer and showrunner on Chelsea Handler’s new Netflix talk show “Chelsea,” has left the show after just three weeks and nine episodes. Wolff isn’t expected to be replaced.
CBS News has brought in Errol Barnett as a correspondent, based in Washington, D.C., beginning in June. Barnett was previously an anchor and reporter at CNN International.
