AKQA has named Mark Uttley group strategy director, working in the agency’s San Francisco office. Uttley joins from Spotify, where he was vice president and director of global consumer insight.

Bauer Media U.S. has made two additions, naming Jeff Wellington executive vice president of advertising revenue and Brian Beaudry executive vice president of consumer revenue. Wellington joins from Meredith Corp., Beaudry from Dow Jones.

Robert Silvers, a founding editor of The New York Review of Books, died this week in his home at age 87. No cause was given. The publication was founded in 1963, and Silvers edited along with Barbara Epstein until she passed away in 2006. He had been editing solo ever since.

Crown Media Family Networks has named George Zaralidis vice president of network program publicity, based in the company’s Studio City office. Zaralidis joins from ABC’s primetime and late night media relations team.

Brendon Mulvihill has been named senior vice president and global head of licensing at Jukin Media, which specializes in viral video licensing. Mulvihill was previously director of content licensing at GoPro.

The Weather Channel has brought back Rick Knabb as its on-air hurricane expert, beginning in May. This will be Knabb’s second stint at the network. He previously left to serve as director of the National Hurricane Center.

David Grae has signed a new two-year deal with CBS Television Studios, under which he will continue as executive producer of “Madam Secretary.” Grae will also develop new projects for the studio.

ABC News’ Diane Sawyer is set to interview Caitlyn Jenner for the April 21 episode of “20/20,” two years after the pair’s first exclusive one-on-one interview. The talk coincides with the release of Jenner’s memoir.

Westwood One has named Rafael Hernández Brito play-by-play man for its Spanish-language telecast of the Final Four, which takes place on April 1 and 3. Former player Greivis Vásquez will serve as analyst, while Clemson Smith Muñiz will host the pregame and halftime shows.

ABC has added Shalim Ortiz to its drama pilot “Las Reinas,” which stars Daniella Alonso. Ortiz previously appeared in Telemundo’s “Señora Acero.”

Actress Valerie Cruz has joined Fox’s medical drama pilot “The Resident,” playing the chief executive officer of a hospital. Cruz’s most recent regular TV role was on “The Following.”

Chuck Barris, who created a number of classic game shows including “The Dating Game,” “The Newlywed Game” and “The Gong Show,” died on Tuesday of natural causes at age 87. He also served as host of “The Gong Show” during its 1976-1980 run, and he later directed and starred in “The Gong Show Movie.” In Barris’ autobiography, “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind,” he claimed to have been a CIA assassin, which the organization denies.
