Matt Hong has been promoted to chief operating officer at Turner Sports, which includes TNT, TBS and truTV. He will lead sports programming for those three networks and also handle operations of NBA TV, NBA League Pass and NBA.com. Hong had been executive vice president and general manager.
Viacom has named Frank Tanki general manager at TV Land, replacing the departed Larry Jones. Tanki was most recently executive vice president of brand marketing and creative at Spike TV.
Nickelodeon has promoted Shelly Sumpter Gillyard, naming her executive vice president of talent, music and events. Gillyard had been senior vice president of talent.
Twentieth Century Fox has promoted Keith Feldman to president, in charge of its worldwide home entertainment division. Feldman had been president of worldwide distribution.
MSNBC has named Jonathan Wald senior vice president of programming and development, reporting to president Phil Griffin. Wald was most recently an executive producer at CNN.
Susana Zepeda Cagan has been named vice president of talent at Turner Classic Movies, as well as FilmStruck. Zepeda Cagan was previously head of talent and studio relations at Fandango.
ABC has revealed the cast for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars,” which kicks off March 20. This year’s competitors: Former wrestler and actor Mr. T; Olympic gymnastics goddess Simone Biles; former “Glee” actress Heather Morris; NFL player Rashad Jennings; flamenco star Charo; former figure skater Nancy Kerrigan; Fifth Harmony singer Normani Kordei; comedian Chris Kattan; former baseball player David Ross; “The Bachelor” star Nick Viall; bull rider Bonner Bolton; and “Real Housewives” star Erika Jayne.
CBS has added Shemar Moore to the cast of its drama pilot “S.W.A.T.,” based on the 1975 series and the 2003 movie. Moore is no stranger to CBS-he previously appeared on “Criminal Minds” and was on “The Young and the Restless” for multiple seasons across 20 years.
Actress Jenna Fischer has joined the cast of ABC’s comedy pilot “Splitting Up Together,” from “Suburgatory” creator Emily Kapnek. Fischer is best known for her role in NBC’s “The Office.”
Agencies
Digital agency Delphic Digital has named Sasha Pfandt vice president of technology, effective immediately. Pfandt joins from Mirum, where he was vice president of engineering.
Magazines
Interview magazine has named Nick Haramis editor in chief, replacing the departed Keith Pollock. Haramis was previously articles editor at T: The New York Times Style Magazine.
