Singer Christina Aguilera will return to NBC’s “The Voice” for its tenth season, joining fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams. Aguilera previously appeared on the first, second, third, fifth and eighth seasons of the reality competition. She’ll replace Gwen Stefani, who is a coach on the show’s current season.
Deborah Barak has been promoted at CBS, rising to president of business operations for CBS News, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Studios. Since 2010 Barak was executive vice president of business operations for CBS Network Television Entertainment Group.
Jennifer Lopez is set to perform on ABC’s telecast of the “American Music Awards,” which airs on Nov. 22. Nominees for this year’s event will be revealed on “Good Morning America” on Oct. 13.
Actress Sanaa Lathan is set to star in an upcoming event series on Fox, about the fallout when an African-American police officer shoots and kills a white teen in Tennessee. The project will be written and executive produced by Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood.
Jaime Robinson and David Kolbusz, executive creative directors at Wieden+Kennedy, are leaving the agency to pursue other opportunities. Managing director Neal Arthur will serve as interim executive creative director and team with global executive creative director Colleen DeCourcy to fill in on a temporary basis.
Christina Norman has been named chief executive officer at Water Cooler Group, a new position at the marketing services company. Norman is a former chief executive at the cable network OWN.
New York agency sparks & honey has made two hires, bringing on Mike Lanzi as chief client officer and Paul Butler as chief operating officer. Lanzi joins from Arnold Worldwide and Butler from ASPiRE.
A+E Networks has made a number of moves, including hiring Lance Still as senior vice president of branded content. Still had been executive vice president of promotions and integrated marketing at the Weinstein Co. The company has also brought in Kevin McGaw as vice president of ad sales marketing, following a previous sales position at ESPN. Finally, A+E has also made three promotions, naming Santosh Mathai vice president of data, analytics and strategic sales partnerships, and Ethan Heftman and Mary Kang vice presidents of ad sales.
Viacom has promoted Amy Doyle, naming her executive vice president at both VH1 and Logo. Doyle had been executive vice president of music and talent for MTV and VH1.
Peter Sarsgaard has joined the cast of Showtime’s upcoming “Twin Peaks” revival, appearing in a recurring role. Sarsgaard’s most recent TV role was on “The Slap.”
Jon Steinberg, North America chief executive officer at DailyMail.com, is leaving his position at the end of the year, and a search is already underway to find a replacement. Steinberg has been with the paper since June 2014. There’s no word yet on what he’ll do next.
CBS Radio has named Sam Rogers vice president of national sales and corporate partnerships, effective Oct. 12. Rogers joins from Radio One, where he was vice president of national and corporate sales.
Time Inc. has named Alex Prewitt a staff writer at Sports Illustrated, mainly covering the NHL. Prewitt most recently covered the University of Maryland athletics and the Washington Capitals at The Washington Post.
