NBC’s new Sunday lineup tops the night in 18-49s
Network averages a 1.3, 44 percent ahead of Fox and CBS, which tie for No. 2
March 6, 2017
NBC’s “Little Big Shots” returned just as dominant on Sunday night as it was last year.
The reality show in which children show off their skills posted the evening’s best rating among adults 18-49 and led NBC to a first-place finish with its first lineup of regular non-sports programming since last spring.
The second-season premiere of “Shots” averaged a 2.0 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, off nearly a third from last year’s series debut but right in line with the show’s 2.1 first-season average.
NBC won the 8 p.m. hour with “Shots,” part of a three-hour sweep for the network.
The timeslot debut of “Chicago Justice,” which had a special sneak peek on Wednesday, posted a 1.4 at 9 p.m., also winning its hour.
And the relocated “Shades of Blue” at 10 p.m. posted a 1.0 for its second-season return, down by more than 40 percent from last year’s premiere, though it aired on Thursdays.
“Shades” still won its timeslot against low-rated competition on CBS and ABC.
ABC’s new drama “Time After Time,” which it previewed on last week’s Oscars, bowed to just a 0.6 with a special two-hour episode. That was a tenth behind what CBS’s “Madam Secretary” and “Elementary” combined for from 9 to 11 p.m.
Earlier in the night, “Once Upon a Time” was even to its last original three months ago with a 1.0 at 8 p.m.
Also at 8 p.m., Fox’s “The Simpsons” posted a 1.1, even with its last original two weeks ago. Lead-out “Making History” (like ABC’s “Time,” a show about time travel though this one’s a comedy) managed just a 0.9.
“Family Guy” ranked as Fox’s top show with a 1.1 at 9 p.m.
