NBC edges ABC on Monday in battle of reality shows
Averages a 2.2 in 18-49s to ABC's season-high 2.0, led by 'The Voice'
March 7, 2017
NBC won week two of the battle of the top-rated reality shows.
Led by “The Voice,” the network just edged rival ABC, marking its second straight Monday night win.
“Voice” was the night’s top show with a 2.7 from 9 to 11 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, down from last week’s 3.1.
That led into “Taken,” which drew a 1.3, down from last week’s 1.6. It finished second in the 10 p.m. hour behind hour two of ABC’s special “The Bachelor: Women Tell All,” which posted a 1.6.
NBC averaged a 2.2 for the night, 0.2 ahead of ABC, which hit a Monday season high with a 2.0.
The full two-hour “Women” drew a 1.8, and a one-hour episode of “Bachelor” at 8 p.m. posted a 2.2.
The two networks’ reality programs faced little competition. CBS was largely in repeats, save an original “Superior Donuts” that posted a 1.2 at 9 p.m.
And Fox’s lineup continued to struggle. “24: Legacy” dropped to a new series low of 0.9, and a renewal for the program is looking increasingly unlikely.
Similarly, “APB” managed just a 0.8, even with last week but a distant third in the timeslot.
