Kansas City’s OT victory lifts NBC on Sunday night
'SNF' game averages an 11.8 metered-market household rating
November 28, 2016
“Sunday Night Football” featured a close matchup last night, with the Kansas City Chiefs needing overtime to squeak past the Denver Broncos 30-27.
The tight contest gave NBC an easy victory in primetime.
The game averaged an 11.8 metered-market household rating, according to Nielsen, from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The rating peaked from 11:30 to midnight, as the two teams headed into OT.
In Kansas City, the game averaged a 41.0, the second-best ever for the squad on “SNF,” behind only a 51.5 for a 2013 contest.
Elsewhere on broadcast Sunday night, the end of the New England Patriots-New York Jets game, which came down to the final minutes, drew strong numbers for CBS at 7 p.m., averaging 23.2 million total viewers and a 5.7 in adults 18-49, though those numbers will adjust with final ratings.
That gave lead-out “60 Minutes” a lift, averaging a 2.3 in the demo at 8 p.m. It was the night’s top non-sports program, with Fox’s lineup in repeats.
“NCIS: Los Angeles,” which posted a 1.4 in the demo, was the top scripted show of the night.
ABC’s dramas were low once again, with “Once Upon a Time” the top scripted show on the network with a 1.0.
