Game two of the World Series grows
Mets-Royals contest averages a 9.3 metered-market rating
October 29, 2015
Game two of the World Series wasn’t quite the thriller that game one was—the Kansas City Royals won an easy 7-1 victory Wednesday night, a day after game one went 14 innings.
But it still drew a solid rating and was up from last year.
Game two averaged a 9.3 metered-market household rating, according to Nielsen, up 6 percent from last year.
The game peaked with a 10.8 from 9:45 to 10 p.m., when it was still close, but shortly after that window the Royals jumped ahead.
The competition on the other broadcast networks held up surprisingly well against not just baseball but also the Republican presidential candidates’ debate on CNBC, which early numbers suggest will be the most-watched program in network history.
Four shows were actually up from last week.
ABC’s “black-ish” nudged up a tenth to a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, while NBC’s “Chicago P.D.” grew a tenth as well, to a 1.5.
The CW’s “Arrow” also rose a tenth, to a 1.0. “Supernatural” saw the night’s biggest gain, soaring 50 percent to a 0.9.
On the down side, CBS’s “Code Black” slid to a new low in 18-49s with a 1.1.
