Cute: Halloween fun on Realtor.com
October 8, 2015
The internet has changed the way wannabe home-buyers search for the home of their dreams.
Now one site is helping them create the home of their nightmares through an adorable alternative media campaign.
Ahead of Halloween, the website Realtor.com has rolled out a new “Build Your Own Haunted House” feature, where users can create their own haunted house and share with friends via social media.
Visitors begin by selecting a house style-Victorian, Plantation, Tudor or Gothic.
They then select other options such as lighting colors, lawn features (for sale sign, jack-o-lanterns, graveyard, skeletons), flying features (witch, ghosts, crows, bats) and spooky sounds.
The site also has an option to place a photo onto a zombie and include it in part of the scene, especially handy for those who envision Great Aunt Sue as the perfect finishing touch on a haunted house.
Users then click the “animate” button to see their creation in action.
The site is fairly quick and simple diversion, meant as a light-hearted way to drive traffic and keep in the Halloween spirit.
Realtor.com plans to keep the site live until midnight on Oct. 31. To take a look, click here.
