CBS, the daytime leader, leads Daytime Emmy nominations
March 23, 2017
It seems appropriate that CBS should once again lead the daytime Emmy nominations, seeing as how the network has a 30-year win streak in daytime going in the Nielsen ratings.
CBS earned 70 nominations, announced Wednesday, including a leading 25 for “The Young and the Restless,” daytime’s top soap in total viewers.
Every show in its daytime lineup received a nomination, including “The Talk,” which earned a series-high eight nods.
CBS received 19 more nominations than the No. 2 network, Amazon, which racked up 50. ABC was third with 38. (Syndication also received 51.)
ABC’s “General Hospital” and CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful” tied for the second-most nods for an individual show with 23.
The awards will take place April 30. The awards were not televised last year, and it appears there’s no deal to air them this year, either.
