Cable overnights: Another Warriors victory
February 5, 2016
The Golden State Warriors remain on a record pace for wins this season, and that’s spurring ESPN to very strong ratings when it carries the squad, as it often does.
Wednesday night the Warriors topped the Washington Wizards 134-121 in a game that featured lots of dazzling offense.
The result was a 0.9 adults 18-49 rating for the game, according to Nielsen overnights,
That was up from a 0.8 two weeks ago, when the Warriors topped the Chicago Bulls on ESPN.
The game tied for the No. 5 show on cable for the day in the demo, with four sitcom repeats tied for first with a 1.0.
Golden State has cruised through the first half of the season, carrying a 45-4 record more than midway through. The team is trying to best a Bulls squad that went 72-10 during the 1995-’96 season.
Elsewhere on cable Wednesday, A&E’s “Duck Dynasty” posted a 0.6, even to last week.
MTV’s “The Challenge: Bloodlines” was up a tenth to a 0.5.
And CNN’s “New Hampshire Democratic Town Hall” finished first among the cable news networks from 9 to 11 p.m., averaging 871,000 adults 25-54 and 2.7 million total viewers.
