‘Big Brother’ remains steady against NBC’s Olympics
Long-running CBS reality show posts a 1.8 in 18-49s, even to last week
August 11, 2016
Lots of programs on broadcast and cable have taken hits against NBC’s strong Olympics coverage over the past few days.
But CBS’s “Big Brother” wasn’t one of them.
On Wednesday night, the long-running reality show managed to hold even with the previous week, despite the huge competition from the Games.
The show averaged a 1.8 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen, flat to last week’s 1.8.
“Brother” finished as the No. 1 non-Olympics program of the night, not that there was anything challenging it for the title.
ABC and Fox both aired all repeats.
The CW had an original “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” (0.4) and “Whose Line Is It Anyway” (0.4), both of which were also even to last week.
That’s impressive, because plenty of other programs have seen notable week-to-week drops.
On cable, WWE programming has been down, while on broadcast several programs have dropped.
