‘Big Bang Theory’ delivers big DVR numbers
December 1, 2015
CBS’s long-running comedy “The Big Bang Theory” is still bringing in big DVR numbers.
The Nov. 12 episode posted a 5.9 rating among viewers 18-49 with seven-day DVR playback added in, according to Nielsen, up 2.2 ratings points from its original 3.7 live-plus-same-day DVR playback rating.
That tied Fox’s “Empire” for the most growth in the demo during the week ended Nov. 15, while only one other show was able to grow by at least 2.0 ratings points, ABC’s “Modern Family.”
“Big Bang” also added 4.99 million total viewers through DVR playback, for an L+7 total of 19.90 million.
That was the second-most growth of the week behind NBC’s “Blindspot,” which added 5.52 million viewers for an L+7 total of 13.19 million.
Seven shows double ratings with DVR viewing
Meanwhile, there were seven shows that week that were able to at least double their ratings among 18-49s with seven-day DVR viewing added in: ABC’s “Quantico,” “Castle” and now-canceled “Wicked City”; CBS’s “Elementary”; and CW’s “The Vampire Diaries,” “The Originals” and “America’s Next Top Model.”
