‘Better Late Than Never’ holds in week two
New NBC reality show maintains 100 percent of last week's solid debut
August 31, 2016
It appears NBC’s new reality show “Better Late Than Never” is not just a one-week phenomenon.
The second episode of the show, in which older male stars take a trip across Asia, averaged a 1.6 adults 18-49 rating Tuesday night at 10 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, even with last week’s debut.
It finished as the No. 2 program of the night on broadcast, behind lead-in “America’s Got Talent.”
It even grew among total viewers, up 2 percent to 7.5 million.
“Late” got a lot of promotion during the Olympics, which undoubtedly contributed to its strong start.
Of course, it’s also benefitting from a big lead-in. Earlier in the night, “Talent” posted a 2.5 in 18-49s, up a tenth from last week and matching its best rating since July 5.
Elsewhere on broadcast Tuesday night, ABC’s “Bachelor in Paradise” tied a Tuesday season high in the demo with a 1.4.
In total viewers, it hit a Tuesday series best with 5 million.
CBS’s “Zoo” fell a tenth from last week in 18-49s to a 0.7, while “MADtv” on the CW grew a tenth from last week to a 0.3.
