CBS to first Friday Averages a 2.4 adults 18-49 rating for the night Feb 9, 2009 CBS’s “Ghost Whisperer” propelled the network to a first-place finish among viewers 18-49 on Friday night, according to Nielsen overnights, despite the fact the network aired a rerun of “Flashpoint” in the 9 p.m. hour. “Whisperer” posted a 2.8 overnight rating in the demo, up 8 percent from the 2.6 final rating it has average so far this season. That pushed CBS’s nightly average up to a 2.4 rating and 7 share in the demo, ahead of second-place ABC’s 2.1/6. Univision was third for the night at 1.6/5, Fox fourth at 1.4/5, NBC fifth at 1.4/4 and CW sixth at 0.4/1. As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Twenty-eight percent of Nielsen households have DVRs. At 8 p.m. CBS led with the 2.8 for “Whisperer,” followed by ABC with a 1.8 for “Wife Swap.” Univision was third with a 1.5 for “Cuidado con el Angel,” Fox fourth with a 1.4 for an hour of “Cops,” NBC fifth with a 1.3 for “Howie Do It” and CW sixth with a 0.5 for “Everybody Hates Chris” (0.5) and a repeat of “The Game.” ABC took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 2.3 for “Supernanny,” while CBS slipped to second with a 2.2 for its “Flashpoint” rerun. Univision was third with a 1.9 for “Fuego en la Sangre,” Fox fourth with a 1.5 for “America’s Most Wanted,” NBC fifth with a 1.4 for “Friday Night Lights” and CW sixth with a 0.4 for “13 – Fear Is Real.” At 10 p.m. CBS regained the lead with a 2.2 for “Numb3rs,” with ABC second with a 2.1 for “20/20.” NBC was third with a 1.4 for “Dateline” and Univision fourth with a 1.3 for “Rosa de Guadalupe.” CBS also finished first for the night among households with a 6.5 average overnight rating and an 11 share. ABC was second at 4.2/7, NBC and Fox tied for third at 2.8/5, Univision fifth at 2.1/4 and CW sixth at 0.7/1.
