ABC and CBS tie for first place on Thursday
Each network posts a 1.4 rating for the night in the demo
March 10, 2017
The return of ABC’s drama lineup pushed it to a first-place tie on Thursday night.
The network posted a 1.4 average overnight rating and a 5 share for the night, according to Nielsen, tied with CBS for No. 1. That was up a huge 180 percent from the network’s 0.5 rating last Thursday, when it featured the miniseries “When We Rise.”
“Grey’s Anatomy” led the network with a 1.9 rating in the demo in the 8 p.m. hour. “Scandal” posted a 1.4 rating at 9 p.m., and the season premiere of “The Catch” posted a 0.8 at 10.
“The Catch” tied NBC’s “The Blacklist: Redemption” for first place in the 10 p.m. hour. It was also flat to its two-hour season finale in May.
‘Big Bang Theory’ tops the night
Meanwhile, CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory” was easily the top show of the night among 18-49s, posting a 2.8 rating. It was also the top show of the night in 18-34s (1.4 rating) and total viewers (12.99 million).
NBC and Fox tied for third among 18-49s, each with a 0.9 rating and a 3 share. Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth at 0.6/2, and CW was seventh at 0.4/2.
CBS leads in households
Among households, CBS led the night comfortably with a 4.4 average overnight rating and an 8 share. ABC was second at 2.7/7, NBC third at 2.8/5 and Fox fourth at 1.8/3. Univision and CW tied for fifth at 0.9/2 and Telemundo was seventh at 0.8/1.
