ABC axes ‘The Assets’ after two episodes

It didn’t take long for the first casualty of the midseason to emerge.

ABC has killed the new drama “The Assets” after just two episodes.

The new show, dubbed an eight-part miniseries by the network, debuted to just a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating on Jan. 2, ABC’s lowest-rated in-season drama premiere ever.

In its second week, it sank to a 0.6 rating in the Thursday 10 p.m. timeslot. The network had little choice but to yank the show before it dropped further.

For the next few weeks, “Assets” will be replaced by repeats of “Shark Tank,” the network’s top-rated Friday night show.

“Scandal,” ABC’s top drama, will return to the Thursday slot later this spring.
